Musk Reportedly Requires SpaceX IPO Banks to Subscribe to Grok AI

April 3 — Elon Musk has reportedly asked banks working on SpaceX’s planned initial public offering (IPO) to purchase subscriptions to Grok, an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by his AI company.

According to a report by the New York Times, banks and financial advisers involved in the SpaceX IPO process have been asked to spend millions of dollars annually on subscriptions to the Grok AI platform. Some banks have already agreed to the arrangement and have started integrating the chatbot into their internal IT systems.

Major financial institutions working on the IPO include Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Citigroup, which are acting as lead banks managing the offering.

The move highlights how artificial intelligence products are becoming increasingly important in the financial industry, with banks integrating AI tools into their operations for data analysis, research, automation, and decision-making.

It also shows how major technology entrepreneurs are increasingly linking different parts of their business ecosystems — in this case, combining artificial intelligence services with major financial deals — as competition in the AI industry continues to grow.

If confirmed, the development would be another example of how AI is rapidly becoming a core part of business strategy across industries, including finance, investment banking, and technology.
