Timpi and MASQ Network Merge to Launch Privacy-Focused Alternative to Big Tech Browsers and Search

AUCKLAND, New Zealand, March 26, 2026 — Timpi and MASQ Network have announced a full product merger aimed at creating a privacy-focused alternative to mainstream search engines and browsers. The combined platform integrates a decentralized search engine, a privacy-focused browser, and a distributed VPN into a single product designed for everyday use.

The unified product will operate under the MASQ brand, bringing together private browsing, independent search, and secure connectivity in one application. While the product will be branded as MASQ, Timpi will continue to operate as the infrastructure layer, providing its independent web index to power the search functionality.

Timpi has spent the past three years developing an independent search index built outside of major technology company infrastructure. MASQ Network, on the other hand, provides a privacy-focused browser and a distributed VPN designed to route internet traffic through a decentralized network, helping protect user identity and browsing activity.

According to MASQ’s founder, the merger aims to combine private browsing, independent search, and secure internet access into a single practical product for everyday users rather than offering these services as separate tools.

Timpi Search Now Available

Alongside the merger announcement, Timpi also confirmed that Timpi Search is now generally available in open beta at timpi.com. Users can access the search engine without creating an account, and it is available through the MASQ browser as well as a standalone browser extension. This marks the first time Timpi’s independent search index has been made publicly available worldwide, moving beyond its earlier community testing phase.

Future Plans and Business Model

In the coming months, the MASQ browser will be released with native Timpi search integration. The companies also plan to expand distribution through MASQ’s existing partner network.

The business model will include search advertising, enterprise data and API services, and MASQ user subscriptions. The companies emphasized that user data itself will not be sold as a product, positioning the platform as a privacy-first alternative to traditional internet services dominated by large technology companies.

Company leadership stated that the goal of the merger is to build a more transparent and decentralized internet infrastructure that is controlled by the community rather than centralized corporations.
